Effective 16 October 2026. TunaCut is made by Right On Tech. This page says what the TunaCut desktop apps and the TunaCut Cloud service collect, where it is kept, and who else sees it.
The TunaCut editor can publish your finished videos to YouTube channels you own or manage. It uses the YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
When you press Add channel, your web browser opens Google's own sign-in page. TunaCut asks for two permissions and no others:
youtube.upload — to upload the video files you choose, with the title,
description, tags, category, visibility and publish time you set, and to set the thumbnail
image you choose for those videos.youtube.readonly — to read your channel's name, handle, picture and ID, the list
of videos on the channel, and their status (processing, private, scheduled, public) and
public counts (views, likes, comments), so the app can show you a library of what you have
published and whether an upload finished.TunaCut cannot delete or edit your existing videos, read your comments or messages, see your Google account's email or contacts, or act on any channel you have not connected.
Nobody. Data received from YouTube is used only to show it to you inside the app and to carry out the uploads you ask for. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not sent to AI providers.
TunaCut's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
%APPDATA%\TunaCut removes everything the app
stored about your channels. Some editor features — transcription, suggested Cuts, and suggested titles and descriptions — send text or audio from your own project to an AI provider (Anthropic for text, and the transcription service you configure) using the API key in the app's credentials file. The app shows the estimated cost before it sends anything. What is sent is your project's transcript, chapter titles and the notes you typed — not your YouTube data. Results are cached in your project folder so the same request is not sent twice. Those providers process the request under their own terms; TunaCut does not keep a copy on its servers.
TunaCut Cloud (app.tunacut.com) is optional. If you have an account and sign the desktop app in to it:
Cloud data is stored on a server rented from Hetzner in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA, kept separate per organisation, and reachable only by your organisation's members and by Right On Tech staff when needed to run the service. Each device's access can be revoked from the Devices page. To delete your account and everything stored for it, write to [email protected]; we complete deletion within 30 days.
tunacut.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. The web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for about two weeks for security. The site and app.tunacut.com are delivered through Cloudflare, which handles each request to protect and speed up the site. Signing in to app.tunacut.com sets a session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie, which are needed for sign-in to work.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date, and anything that widens what TunaCut collects is announced in the app before it applies. Questions or requests: [email protected].
